• Remove the seeds and rind. Before offering watermelon to your dog, make sure to remove the seeds and the tough outer rind. The seeds can pose a choking hazard, especially for small dogs, and the rind is difficult to digest and may cause gastrointestinal issues.
• Serve in small, manageable pieces: Cut the watermelon into small, bite-sized pieces to prevent choking and make it easier for your dog to consume. AKC also recommends puree, ice cream, and other watermelon treats.
